Volcano updates:

On September 22nd the Indonesian authorities raised the alert to level 4, the highest level (Meaning eruption could be imminent).

Our friends living in North Bali (Tulemben and Amed area) Have been evacuated and are now safe in south Bali. The authorities evacuated villages located up to 9-12 kms from crater of Mount Agung.

The National Disaster Mitigation Agency earlier said no residents or tourists should be within nine kilometres of the crater and within 12 kilometres to the north, north-east, south-east and south-south-west.

The volcano is approximately 50kms from Nusa Ceningan and 70kms from the airport of DPS. We are all safe, our team is on stand by and we are as ready as we can be for this situation.

This is the translation of the daily reports from the authorities: (website: www.vsi.esdm.go.id )

The increase of volcanic activity from the increasing seismic status of Mount Agung (3142 m asl) in Karangasem Regency Bali Province is raised from Level III (Siaga) to Level IV (Beginning) starting from 22 September 2017 at 20:30 WITA.

On September 19, 2017 recorded 427 times In Volcanic Earthquake (VA), 20 times Shallow Volcanic Earthquake (VB) and 11 times the local tectonic earthquake.

On September 20, 2017 recorded 563 times In Volcanic Earthquake (VA) and 8 times Shallow Volcanic Earthquake (VB).

On September 21, 2017 recorded 82 times Shallow Volcanic Earthquake (VB), 592 times Earthquake Volcanic Earthquake (VA), 51 times local tectonic earthquake (TL).

On September 22, 2017 recorded 119 times Shallow Volcanic Earthquake (VB), 586 times of Volcanic Earthquake In (VA) and 119 times Local Tectonic Earthquake (TL).

On September 23, 2017 recorded 172 times Shallow Volcanic Earthquake (VB), 490 times Earthquake Volcanic Earthquake (VA), 51 times local tectonic earthquake (TL).

On September 24, 2017 recorded 350 times Shallow Volcanic Earthquake (VB), 570 times In Volcanic Earthquake (VA), 67 times Local Tectonic Earthquake (TL).

On September 25, 2017, recorded 340 times Shallow Volcanic Earthquake (VB), 504 times In Volcanic Earthquake (VA), 74 times Local Tectonic Earthquake (TL).

On 26 September 2017 recorded 373 times Shallow Volcanic Earthquake (VB), 579 times In Volcanic Earthquake (VA), 50 times Local Tectonic Earthquake (TL).

On September 27, 2017 recorded 314 times Shallow Volcanic Earthquake (VB), 564 times In Volcanic Earthquake (VA), 64 times Local Tectonic Earthquake (TL).

On September 28, 2017 recorded 214 times Shallow Volcanic Earthquake (VB), 444 times Inner Volcanic Earthquake (VA), 23 times Local Tectonic Earthquake (TL).

On September 30 2017 recorded 252 times Shallow Volcanic Earthquake (VB), 542 times Volcanic Earthquake In (VA), 4 times Local Tectonic Earthquake (TL).

On October 1 2017 recorded 306 times Shallow Volcanic Earthquake (VB), 587 times Inner Volcanic Earthquake (VA), 32 times Local Tectonic Earthquake (TL).

< Updated October 2nd at 10am >

On October 2 2017 (00: 00-06: 00), recorded 94 times of shallow volcanic earthquake (VB), 128 times of deep volcanic earthquake (VA), 5 times local tectonic earthquake (TL).

There has been several false reports in international news that eruptions and ash clouds are present, however these are not accurate.

I will post further seismic activities as soon as the updated report is available.

There are now over 100,000 people evacuated from the villages located within the 9-12kms danger zones surrounding Mount Agung. There is a growing need for support and relief aid.

Please look at the comment section of this original post from Sept 23 for links and more information on how you can help.

Recommendation from the authorities: Communities around Mount Agung and climbers / visitors / tourists not to be on, do not climb and do not engage in any activity in the danger zone that is within the G. Agung crater area within a radius of 9 km from the top crater of G. Agung and plus the sectoral extension to the North-Northeast, Southeast and South-Southwest for 12 km.

I'm also attaching images with emergency contact numbers of various organizations which were passed on to us by Paul Tosh Tanner, our awesome PADI Regional Manager.

**Please be patient if you are trying to reach any of these numbers as the lines are very busy**

At the time of this post, no flights had been cancelled and all activities at the DPS airport remained normal.
