The PADI Advance Open Water Diver Course is a challenging course where we have to do 5 adventure dives.
PADI Divemaster Internship Training Journal – AOW Diver Course
In mid January we started our PADI GoPRO Lembongan Divemaster Internship, we have been working along side the dive team at Ceningan Divers since our arrival. In January, we completed our PADI Open Water Diver Course and a few weeks ago, I finished the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course.
To be honest, I never thought that I would be this comfortable in diving in deeper and more challenging environment, however I really enjoyed the Deep Dive of the AOW course and it helped me gain new skills and increase my self-confidence.
The Underwater Navigation was hard for me, it motivated me to learn more about it, finding our way, making pattern using compass, navigating the dive sites with natural reference, and returning to our entry point.
For the 3rd dive, we did the Peak Performance Buoyancy, this helped me a lot with my positioning and improved my breathing underwater, it was very fun to learn to control my buoyancy.
One thing that I love from these underwater adventure dive is discovering new sea life. The fishes, rays, sea snakes, and small creatures are amazingly awesome. I was curious and I was inspired to take Fish Identification to learn more about their beauty, habitat and how to have fun while respecting these wonderful creatures.
For the final module I was interested in gaining knowledge on Boat Diving as almost all of the dive sites around are the area are accessible only by boat. We learned about the tools and equipment to have on the boat, how to help people with seasickness and more.
Now I’m PADI Advance Open Water Diver and I am excited to continue my adventure on this yearlong internship. Again, I am thankful to PADI and Ceningan Divers for this amazing opportunity. I will learn more and I am preparing myself for my next course; the PADI Rescue Diver.
